How to request deletion of data collected through our WhatsApp integration, and what happens after you do. This page covers WhatsApp specifically — see our Privacy Policy for our full data practices.
Why This Page Exists
LearnByAI offers a WhatsApp integration that lets you upload documents and chat with our AI directly from WhatsApp, built on Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta's Platform Policy requires every app built on its platform to provide users with a clear way to request deletion of the data collected through that integration. This page is that instructions page, and applies to anyone who has messaged our WhatsApp number — whether or not you've linked it to a LearnByAI account.
What Data We Collect via WhatsApp
A. WhatsApp Phone Number
The phone number you message our WhatsApp number from, used solely to route your conversation and, if you link your account, to associate your WhatsApp session with your LearnByAI account.
B. Message and Document History
The text messages you send through WhatsApp, and any documents you upload via WhatsApp for analysis, processed the same way as documents uploaded through the web app.
C. Account Link Status
If you've used the /link flow to connect your WhatsApp number to a LearnByAI account, we store that link so your WhatsApp chats can access your account's plan and history.
How to Request Deletion
Email us from an address you control and we'll process your request:
Include the WhatsApp phone number you messaged us from (and your account email, if you've linked an account) so we can locate the right records. We may ask to confirm the request from that same WhatsApp number before processing it, to prevent someone else from deleting your data.
If you have a linked LearnByAI account, you can also remove the WhatsApp connection directly from your account settings without deleting your full account or its web-based data.
What Happens After You Request Deletion
Once we confirm your request, our backend runs the same cascading hard-delete process used for any account deletion across our systems:
Your phone number, message history, and any documents uploaded via WhatsApp are completely scrubbed within 30 days. If you only unlink WhatsApp from an existing account rather than requesting full deletion, your web-based account and its data are unaffected.
Scope of This Policy
This process deletes data held within LearnByAI's own systems. It does not delete, disable, or affect your actual WhatsApp account, phone number, or any Meta account in any way. To manage your WhatsApp or Meta account itself, use WhatsApp's in-app settings or Meta's Help Center. This page exists to satisfy Meta's Platform Terms for apps built on the WhatsApp Business Platform.
