Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how LearnByAi uses cookies, browser local storage objects, and similar tracking technologies across our application. By using our platform you consent to the data storage arrangements described below.

As an anonymous-first platform, our reliance on local browser memory is foundational to providing secure, isolated document workspaces without requiring account registration up front.

01

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Local storage objects are similar but can hold larger amounts of data directly inside your browser. Both are used to remember information between page loads or sessions.

Session cookies

Exist only while your browser is open. Deleted automatically when you close the tab or window.

Persistent storage

Survives browser restarts. Used for your anonymous_id token so your workspace is recognised on your next visit.

02

How We Use Storage

LearnByAi uses three categories of browser storage, each serving a distinct function:

A. Strictly Necessary Storage

Session Integrity

These are absolute requirements for platform operations. We generate a unique browser token (anonymous_id) stored in your browser's local storage. This token acts as your session anchor, keeping your uploaded documents and chat history isolated strictly to your device. Clearing this storage immediately severs all session links.

B. Functional Cookies

Preferences and UI State

We use lightweight browser state flags to preserve your adjustments across sessions. This includes UI theme selections, voice playback volume preferences, and transient rate metrics in local memory to handle server load fairly.

C. API State Cookies

Cloudinary and Supabase

Our asset delivery and database layers use secure, encrypted storage cookies to sign outbound file requests. Cloudinary uses expiring access tokens to stream files safely, while Supabase processes standard HTTP headers to verify session continuity.

03

Third-Party Services

Certain third-party providers integrated into LearnByAi may also set their own cookies or storage objects:

1

Supabase (Database)

Manages session authentication tokens via HTTP-only cookies to verify your identity across API requests securely.

2

Cloudinary (Asset Delivery)

Uses short-lived signed URLs — not persistent cookies — to control access to your uploaded files. No tracking pixels or advertising cookies are set.

3

OpenAI (AI Processing)

API calls are made server-side only. OpenAI does not set any cookies in your browser and does not receive your identity information.

04

Managing Your Storage Choices

You retain complete control over your browser's storage. You can review, limit, or clear your local storage and cookie data directly from your browser's Settings (under Privacy, Security, or Site Data options).

Chrome

Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data

Firefox

Settings → Privacy → Cookies and Site Data

Safari

Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Important Notice

Because LearnByAi relies entirely on local browser tokens to keep your workspace separate from other users, clearing your browser data or using strict auto-delete cookie settings will immediately break your current session and make previously uploaded documents unrecoverable.
